Considering the title of this piece and the solution at the end; Jessica is saying in order to figure how smart a person is to not judge them? That's just weird. What is the purpose of "figuring out how smart someone is" if one has no intention or purpose on forming a judgement from the results of your "figuring"? What exactly are you doing with all that un-biased figuring? A faster way to figure this out would be ending their sentences with prepositions:)
